Mission Accomplished!
07.09.2023We are so excited that our lab, as part of the ETH BiodivX team, has been selected to advance as a Finalist team in the XPRIZE Rainforest competition.
We succeeded in surveying 100 hectares of rainforest in Singapore in just 24 hours!
Our sampling drones flew day and night, with sun and rain. We successfully collected eDNA samples within dense tree canopies, from water streams hidden under vegetation, and from air. This achievement represents a remarkable milestone for the ETH BiodivX team.
We owe our success to the exceptional mix of individuals from a wide variety of disciplines who contributed their ideas and diverse skills from robotics, DNA sequencing, social sciences, and other fields.
