The award highlights excellent first-author publications by Ph.D. students in nanotechnology and nanoscience. The prizes will be presented during the Swiss NanoConvention 2026, which is this year embedded in the international MNE 2026 – International Micro & Nano Engineering Conference in Interlaken − a particularly strong stage for young researchers and their work.

Through nano.swiss, one important part of the Materials- and Nanotechnology focus area at Hightech Zentrum Aargau AG, we are pleased to again sponsor one of these awards. Three more awards are sponsored by Kistler Group, Nanosurf and IBM.

My encouragement to supervisors, mentors and professors across the Swiss nano community: please take a moment to identify outstanding Ph.D. students and put them forward!
One important point for eligibility: the nominated work must have been conducted at a Swiss university or research institute. Please make sure this criterion is fulfilled before submitting a nomination.

Deadline for nominations: 15 August 2026.
Awards ceremony: 24 September 2026, during SNC 2026 at MNE 2026 in Interlaken.
