Swiss Economic Award 2026: Nine start-ups progress to the final

The finalists for the 2026 Swiss Economic Award have been announced: Two of them—Lightium and Swiss Cluster—are active in the field of nanotechnology and materials science. On 5 June, they will compete at the Swiss Economic Forum (SEF) in Interlaken for the prestigious award.

The Swiss Economic Award recognises outstanding entrepreneurial achievements in the categories of services, deep tech/life sciences and production/industry. Over 150 applications were received for the 2026 edition. From these, nine promising companies were nominated for the final following a multi-stage selection process.

On the second day of the prestigious Swiss Economic Forum, the finalists will present their business ideas to a high-calibre jury and leading representatives from the worlds of business, politics and science.

Services category

Bug Bounty Switzerland AG - leading platform for AI-driven and data-powered security testing.

Emergency Vet Care SA - emergency vet care with walk-in services available 24h/7, including weekends and holidays.

enshift AG - platform that enables planning, financing, installation, and long-term operation of renewable energy systems.
 

Deeptech/Life Science category

LEM Surgical AG - provides the next generation of hard tissue robotic surgical systems. 

Lightium AG – its Thin-Film Lithium Niobate (TFLN) platform offers photonic device manufacturers unmatched photonic performance and streamlined production

Limula SA – develops an automated Cell and Gene Therapy manufacturing platform
 

Manufacturing/Trade category

Nu Glass SA – its innovative laser technology makes glass permeable to mobile telecommunications frequencies. 

Swiss Cluster AG – provides modular, scalable and affordable thin-film coating deposition systems, that is much more customizable than the industry standard.

Tiny Fish AG - chain of sushi takeaways with centralised production, characterised by an efficient business model and a sustainable approach to natural resources

The finalists benefit from national visibility and from in-depth feedback from experts and access to the SEF.Founder network. The winning companies in the three categories will also receive prize money of CHF 25,000 each.
