Foldcast receives CHF 150,000 from Venture Kick to cut concrete waste with paper moulds

02.09.2026

With its recyclable paper moulds USI spin-off Foldcast aims to reduce material use and carbon emissions while enabling high-performance building elements with greater design freedom. The CHF 150,000 from Venture Kick will fund Foldcast’s transition from validation to market entry.

Founded by CEO Fabio Amicarelli and CSO Ena Lloret-Fritschi, Foldcast combines business and technical expertise to tackle this challenge by creating concrete building elements with flexible, recyclable paper moulds. Using advanced design software and digital manufacturing, the company can shape structural components so that concrete is placed precisely where it is needed. This reduces material use and environmental impact while maintaining structural performance and opening new possibilities for architectural design.

Foldcast addresses a USD 134 billion target segment within the global USD 1.8 trillion concrete industry. Initial customers are sustainability-driven real estate developers and institutional asset owners in Switzerland and Europe; precast manufacturers will later become production and licensing partners.

The CHF 150,000 from Venture Kick will fund Foldcast’s transition from validation to market entry by completing two pilot projects, developing the software MVP, establishing industrial production partnerships in Switzerland, and strengthening sales and business development.

“Venture Kick helped us turn validated research into a focused business with a clear path to market. Its funding, coaching, and direct feedback enabled us to sharpen our strategy, validate customer needs, and prepare Foldcast for commercial deployment,” say co-founders Fabio Amicarelli and Ena Lloret-Fritschi.
