DePoly has secured contracts worth a total of CHF 50 million for its demonstration plant in Monthey, which is currently in the final stages of construction and is expected to begin operations this summer.

With the opening of its Valais demonstration plant this Summer and 50 million Swiss francs already secured through official commercial agreements, DePoly is poised to take a major step forward in becoming a market leader.

Contacted by Startupticker.ch, CEO and co-founder Sam Anderson confirmed the news published in a recent report by the EIT (European Institute of Technology), noting that the 50 million Swiss francs already committed come from international clients—ranging from the European Union to Japan—who are active in packaging products, bottles, films, and specialty polymers.

This business milestone represents a major validation as its 500-tonne-per-year plant in Monthey is in the final stages of construction. If all goes according to plan, the plant is set to begin commissioning this summer, with ramp-up expected in the fall.

DePoly’s Valais showcase plant will be the first plastic monomer recycling plant in Switzerland and will unlock the possibility of recycling unsorted, untreated and mixed post-consumer and post-industrial textile and packaging waste streams. This new plant will have an increased feedstock capacity and will be able to treat up to 500 Tons of PET/Polyester plastics per year.
