9T Labs deep tech to power Biwi's future
13.05.2026Biwi, based in Switzerland’s Jura region, has completed the acquisition of all assets and patents from 9T Labs, a Zurich-based deeptech company specializing in continuous carbon fiber additive manufacturing. The transaction consolidates a highly advanced composite materials portfolio and accompanies the introduction of NEOCARB, a new class of high-performance materials unveiled at Watches and Wonders 2026.

Biwi has just acquired the assets of Zurich deeptech startup, 9T Labs, which developed an innovative composite material technology containing 60% carbon. According to a RFJ report (Radio Fréquence Jura), the acquisition was finalized on Wednesday evening and is expected to lead to Biwi’s expansion in the Jura region in the coming years. To deploy this technology, the company has announced the creation of a technology center across from its historic site at the entrance to Glovelier.
With a planned investment of several million francs, the center could open as early as 2027 and house the 40 state-of-the-art machines purchased from the Zurich-based company. This technology, renamed “NEOCARB” by Biwi during its recent presentation at the Watches and Wonders fair, is described as “one of the most remarkable in the composites industry.” says the RFJ report, adding that the technology enables the production of parts containing up to 60% continuous carbon fiber with precise fiber orientation. Simply put, this results in components that are twice as strong and up to 70% lighter than titanium.
The future technology center in Glovelier is set to develop components for the watchmaking, aerospace, mobility, and medical sectors. 9T Labs has been in bankruptcy since November 2025 and is currently in liquidation.
