Digital manufacturing in practice – iPrint industrial dialogue on digital inkjet technology

iPrint Institute HEIA-FR, Route de l'Ancienne Papeterie 180, Marly, Switzerland

Where could greater precision, more flexible production, or more selective use of materials make a difference in your manufacturing processes? On 12 November 2026, from 16:00 to 20:00, iPrint at HEIA-FR is exploring exactly that with business leaders, CTOs, and R&D and production decision-makers in Marly — through real industrial case studies, a roundtable discussion, and a guided tour of our laboratories. The focus is digital inkjet technology: placing controlled amounts of material precisely where they are needed, for applications well beyond conventional printing.

Whether your company is new to these technologies or already working on integrating them, this is a chance to see what's working for others, meet the people building it, and walk through the labs where it happens — not a sales pitch, but a working afternoon among peers.

Programm/Ablauf

16:00Welcome & Strategic Roadmap (HEIA-FR)
16:35Connecting expertise: how multidisciplinary collaboration with HEIA-FR supports industrial projects
16:45Industrial case studies: seven experiences across materials, technologies and processes (EPSON, Polytype SA, Optimae Innovation, AIRBUS, ETA SA, Ivoclar and 4plate by Pro Gravur AG)
17:55Short break
18:00Roundtable and audience discussion: "Overcoming the valley of death: Scaling Digital Production from Lab to Factory Floor" (Interactive debate with EPSON, Polytype SA, Optimae Innovation, AIRBUS, and iPrint HEIA-FR)
18:45Guided tour: inside iPrint's HEIA-FR research facilities
19:15Networking aperitif: continue the conversation with speakers, researchers and peers

Why attend

  1. Learn from real deployments by EPSON, Polytype SA, Optimae Innovation, AIRBUS, ETA SA, Ivoclar and 4plate by Pro Gravur AG: industrial case studies across materials, technologies and processes — what worked, what didn't, and why.
  2. See the labs, meet the researchers: a guided tour of iPrint's facilities and direct access to the multidisciplinary expertise behind it — inkjet, chemistry, materials, AI and automation.
  3. Shape what comes next: bring a challenge, a material, or an application idea. The roundtable and conversations that follow are how future projects with iPrint start.

The afternoon closes with a networking aperitif — time to keep talking with speakers, researchers and fellow decision-makers over drinks. You don't need a fully defined project to take part; a good question is enough.
